An alternative energy system is a facility or energy system that uses a form of alternative energy source to generate electricity and delivers the electricity it generates to the distribution system of an EDC or to the transmission system operated by a regional transmission organization. An alternative energy system must be located in the PJM Interconnection, LLC service territory.

The Program Administrator randomly selects a number of systems each year for inspection. If your facility is selected, you will work with our inspection team to schedule the inspection at an agreed upon time and date. If you have any questions about your inspection, please reach out to our customer service team via phone or email.

All facilities except solar are required to annually attest that the facility has not had any environmental violations or provide evidence of remediation if assessed any violations. In addition, you are required to provide an up to date copy of all environmental permits that have not previously been provided or expired within the previous year. The attestations are to be completed in January of each year for the prior year and the Program Administrator will send reminders to complete the attestation.
